Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi was born in Rosario, Santa Fe province, Argentina on June 24, 1987. His father has Italian and Catalonian descent, his mom has Italian descent. He has 2 brothers, Rodrigo and Matias, and sister Sol. His father is a factoey steel worker. In his chilhood, at age 5 he start playing at the Grandoli, a local club. After that, at age 8, he played for Newell's old Boys. When he was eleven years old he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency. The Treatment was expensive because the clubs were not willing to help. But the sporting director of FB Barcelona offer help. When he was 13 years old, Leo enrolled at the Barcelona's Youth Acadamy and start medical treatment. In 2007 he founded the Leo Messi Foundations that provides education and health care for vulnerable children. In 2017 he marries Antonella Roccuzzo; they have three children: Thiago Messi (2012) and Mateo Messi (2015). They live in Barcelona, Spain. He received the Awards Bailon d'oOr five times in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015, won the European Golden Shoe thee times in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and got the FIFA Club World Cup Golden Ball in 2009 and 2011.
